Super League: Leeds Rhinos 18-16 Hull FC

Leeds Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur told BBC Radio Leeds:
“It was courageous. We learn good lessons while collecting a few points. The thing that really impressed me is that we are 11 rounds and that desire is always there – we make the right choices in terms of effort and physics.
“It’s players – not me – and it’s the song that really fascinates me. They give us something to work with. We are miles from our best and we improve each week.
“I was quite happy with myself because I am generally quite emotional, but I remained nice and calm. I felt that if we could make it slide in our style and execute our plan … They probably beat us with the simplest aspects of the game. We have a lot to learn, but at least it did not cost us the points.
“There were three or four sets in a row on our Tryline. From there, I had the impression that we were going to win it, it was going to be in the last two minutes and we were going to find something big.”
Hull FC head coach John Cartwright told BBC Radio Humberside:
“It’s always difficult to take when you lose like that. [Ryan Hall] is a big strong boy and he had it a long time.
“We found a good balance between being aggressive and showing discipline. We held up for almost all except 30 seconds. There was nothing between the teams – they just got the ball race in the last minutes and we were not good enough to push them to the sidelines.
“”[Jordan Rapana] is ok. They were worried about his neck because he was a little non -reactive when they went out to him, so they had to do all the protocols for a neck injury. His neck is good and he is standing. He just cut off.
“It was very worrying, when you saw the way the stretcher died out and it was motionless on the ground. It is in good hands now.”
