The first time Jelly Roll meets Cody Johnson was so epic, it led the star of “Save Me” to have a framed photo of Texas Traditionalist in his house.
Jelly told the story by chatting with CMT recently. The time has occurred at 2024 cmt Music Awards.
“When I won the first prize, I came across the steps and the first person I saw was Cody Johnson,” recalls Jelly.
For Johnson, it was perhaps only a meeting of a new artist, but it meant much more than that for Jelly Roll.
“He gave me a hug as if we grew up together,” recalls Jelly. “He said,” Dude, I’m so proud of you guy. “”
Jelly Roll was really a newcomer to the countryside at the time, so that really warmed her.
“The first person I saw right now could have looked at me as:” Why is this guy here? “But instead, it was just this real Cowboy of Texas which was just illuminated like a Christmas tree for me,” he said.
A photographer took a photo of Johnson and Jelly together.
“This photo, I think of this photo all the time, because someone caught us in the moment and we turned around and took a photo,” he said.
“This is one of those I have supervised in my house until my death.”
Cody Johnson & Is Jelly Roll still friend?
Johnson did not blow smoke – since this photo was taken, they remained friends.
They were spotted behind the scenes together last November, and Johnson pointed out: “I am peanut butter, it is jelly. Put bread on it.”
How long has the roll of jelly have been in country music?
Jelly published her first single country, “Son of a Sinner” in March 2022. He has since released two complete country albums, Whitsitt chapel (2023) and Beautifully broken (2024).
