Sunderland Eye Jhon Lucumi Transfer for January

Sunderland would have already made important plans for the January transfer window as they seek to strengthen their defense.

The Black Cats wanted to sign the defender of Bologna Jhon Lucumi during the summer, although the Giants of Serie A held firmly and did not leave international Colombia.

Swanderland, however, had fairly advanced discussions with the player at the time, and it is now planned that they will try again for him when the transfer window will reopen in January.

Sources in South America claim that Sunderland has already decided that they plan to continue Lucumi as a higher target, it will therefore be interesting to see if they will offer an offer to convince Bologna.

It seems clear that Sunderland does not abandon Lucumi, so they must have a certain degree of confidence that he wants to move to the Stade de la Light.

The latest reports suggest that the 27 -year -old would like to play in the Premier League, when he has not signed again with his current club.

Bologna has currently Lucumi attached until 2027, it could therefore soon be wise for them to consider the offers for him if he does not show any sign of acceptance of a new agreement.

If the Italians give a boost on the road until the summer of 2026, they should surely consider the offers much lower than the market value of Lucumi.

Either that or they will probably end up losing it for free a year later, so it certainly seems to be looking at in January.
