The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has opened its Oscar submission portal, offering producers and studios the possibility of buying and downloading streaming assets directly in the academy screening room. Studios and filmmakers can now visit the entry process for the next 98th Academy prizes.
The films published between January 1 and June 30 must be submitted by Wednesday, September 10 at 5 p.m. PT; People published between July 1 and December 31 will have to obtain their documents by Thursday, November 13, 5 p.m. PT. To complete the general submission of the entry / feature film, the academy must receive both a signed Oscar submission form and a copy of complete screen credits on the specified date and time.
From this year, each producer credited – and any person listed with a credit “producer” or “produced by” – must sign the general entry form. The new requirement guarantees that all parties are correctly informed of the eligibility criteria and potential recipients of the designated prices. This change is undoubtedly linked to the number of “nominees to be determined” which were announced last year.
While the presenters Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott read the category of the best films, five of the 10 films were listed with the title followed by “nominees to be determined”, which has pulled laughter. “The guy’s papers, go, go, go,” joked Sennott.
In addition to the best film, input requirements and separate deadlines apply to these categories: animated functionality, animated short, documentary functionality, short of the document, international functionality, live action, original score, original song and visual effects.

Independent studios and producers are encouraged to plan, because late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted. The streaming download option of the academy’s screening room is designed to simplify the visualization of the voters of the academy, which rely on secure digital access to screen entries.
