Kilmarnock appointed Stuart Kettlewell as his new manager.

As revealed by Sky Sports News Sunday, the former boss of the county of Motherwell and Ross replaced Derek Mcinnes, who left Rugby Park to join Hearts last Monday.

Kettlewell, 40, signed a two -year contract at the club, when he returns to the Pirogue for the first time since January, after his release from Fir Park.

Addressing Sky Sports News after his maternwell release, Kettlewell explained why he had to leave the fir park club

He will be helped by Stephen Frain, while Chris Burke and Craig Clark – who were acting for the last Killie match of the season – the full -boutique team of Kettlewell.

Sky Sports News Understanding of Killie chiefs wanted to act quickly and replace Mcinnes, by Motherwell and Dundee among those who also seek new managers.

It is believed that the club interviewed about six candidates after having reduced a large list of options, with Kettlewell impressing the bosses of the rugby park.

Former Kilmarnock striker Steven Naismith and Scottish assistant John Carver had been linked to the position.

Kilmarnock finished ninth in Scottish premiere this season, after having also been in Europe at the start of the campaign.
