Skydance at the start of talks to acquire Bari Weiss’s free press

The Sun Valley conference could be responsible for another notable media agreement.

This time, the New York Times reported on Friday that the CEO of Skydance, David Ellison, had “early discussions” with the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Free Press Bari Weiss about the acquisition of the digital media company; Weiss and Ellison are currently attending the conference in force in Idaho.

Allen & Company, the investment company behind the conference, is a free press shareholder, noted the Times.

The representatives of the Free Press did not immediately respond to Thewrap, while the representatives of Skydance refused to comment.

Weiss co -founded the Free Press with his wife, Nellie Bowles, in 2021 after leaving the New York Times. The free press boasts that it publishes “investigation stories and provocative comments”, mainly focused on policy and social issues; The New York based point of sale also offers video content and podcasts.
