Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has extended his best wishes to Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna on his retirement, recognizing his impressive career and determination.Tendulkar shared his message on social media platform X: “Rohan, I always believed that sports reveals character. I also wish you many more winning moments off the field.”Rohan Bopanna officially ended his professional tennis career on Saturday after more than two decades in the sport.He made his last appearance at the Masters 1000 in Paris, alongside Alexander Bublik.“How do you say goodbye to something that gave meaning to your life? Representing India was the greatest honor of my life, and every time I stepped on the field, I played for that flag, that feeling, that pride.“The 45-year-old tennis star has achieved remarkable milestones in her career.He became the oldest player to win a Grand Slam title and reach No. 1 in the world’s doubles rankings earlier this year.Her Olympic journey included a fourth place finish at the 2016 Rio Olympics with Sania Mirza.Bopanna has been a vital member of the Indian Davis Cup team for over 20 years.Despite his retirement from competitive tennis, Bopanna remains involved in the development of the sport.He introduced UTR Tennis Pro to India and runs various local initiatives through his academy.Its academy aims to help young Indian players establish their path to international tennis.Bopanna has the distinction of being the oldest player to win both a Grand Slam title and an ATP Masters 1000 title.Tennis fans can still watch him compete in Season 7 of the Tennis Premier League.The tournament is scheduled from December 9 to 14 at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium in Ahmedabad.
