Steven Fletcher: The former Scotland striker retires at 38 years old with “gratitude”

Steven Fletcher announced his football retirement at the age of 38.
The striker, who made 33 appearances for Scotland, was recently in Wrexham, helping them to obtain consecutive promotions in the championship.
Fletcher began his career at Hibernian and was linked to a return to Easter Road this summer.
He moved south to Burnley in 2009 and was also proved to be for Wolves, Sunderland, Marseille, Sheffield on Wednesday and Stoke City before returning to Scotland with Dundee United in 2022, then joining Wrexham.
He made 749 appearances at the club, scoring 189 goals. Internationally, he found the net 10 times at the next level.
Fletcher said “each club shaped me and gave me memories that I will never forget”.
