Stephen King Compares His Upcoming Reboot to Bruce Willis’ 94% RT Action Holiday Classic

However, among the long list of films, Glen Powell And Edgar Wrightthe first collaboration of, The running manis the most sought after. The dystopian action thriller is a remake of Arnold Schwarzeneggerthe film of the same name. Powell has established himself as a Hollywood star since Top Gun: Maverick and the enthusiasm is not only great among his fans, but also Stephen Kingthe author of the original novel.
King recently reacted on social media to the trailer for the film which sees Powell running, fighting and throwing punches. The acclaimed author noted that he “saw it and it was fantastic”, further deeming it “DIE HARD for our times. A bipartisan thrill-ride.” Powell has created a high-octane niche for himself with roles like Hitman And Twistsand his new film certainly looks exciting in the new trailer. Wright, meanwhile, is known for his eccentric cinema; combined, these are the same elements that made the original Die hard a classic for fans. However, it remains to be seen how the film will perform at the box office.
Stephen King approved the new ending of “The Running Man”
The remake follows the desperate Ben (Powell), convinced by The running manThe ruthless producer enters the game as a last resort to save his sick daughter. Ratings for the dystopian series are quickly skyrocketing as Ben’s defiance, instinct and courage make him an unexpected fan favorite. While the story remains almost the sameWright previously revealed that King personally approved his edits until the story was completed.
“Everyone knew at the start that [the novel’s ending] wasn’t going to be part of this adaptation in exactly the same way…[King] I realized before I even read it that we weren’t going to make it to the end of the book. And when he emailed back, he said, “I was very curious how you were going to approach the ending, and I think you did a great job.” So I was very happy with that.
Alongside Powell, the film also starred William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilie Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Esdras, Jayme Lawson, Colman Domingo, And Josh Brolin. The running man sprints into theaters on November 14. Stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
