Stephen Colbert says it’s Epstein who’s buzzing yesterday after House vote on records

Stephen Colbert celebrated the House vote to release the Epstein files, calling Tuesday night’s show “Epstein Rockin’ Eve.”
The comedian addressed the big news from Washington, D.C. during his monologue for “The Late Show,” where he applauded Congress for reaching a near-unanimous decision regarding the Epstein files.
“When it comes to Congress, it’s increasingly rare for things to happen. And today, something happened this afternoon. The House voted to release the Epstein files,” Colbert said at the top of his show. “Actually, it went massively to 427 to one. Wow.”
He continued: “Of course, the vote doesn’t mean the Epstein files will be made public immediately. The bill must now go to the Senate, where it can be amended. And if it passes and is amended there, it will have to go back to the House, where it has to cross a river and under the bridge is a troll. And to get around the troll, you have to answer its riddle. “What walks on two pegs in the morning, rides a golf cart in the afternoon and is totally in the files Epstein.’
It appears Colbert recorded his show after the Senate agreed Tuesday — unanimously — to send the Epstein bill to President Donald Trump’s desk once it is received.
This update makes Colbert’s next joke particularly relevant, as he joked, “Then again, it could be a lot simpler than that because, from this recording…since the vote was so huge and overwhelming in the House, the Senate could vote on the Epstein files tonight. So, I mean, tomorrow we might know everything he and his evil cronies have done.”
“Meaning, it’s ‘Epstein Rockin’ Eve,'” Colbert joked again. “Stay up for a ball drop you’ll want to miss.”
Colbert concluded his comment on the Epstein files update by calling the House vote “a huge loss for Trump,” given that Trump had previously fought against the release of the documents.
However, on Sunday, Trump changed his tone and said House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, saying “we have nothing to hide.”
