Star Wars will reveal what happened to Millennium Falcon before the force wakes up

The Millennium Falcon, even extending beyond the “Star Wars” galaxy, is one of the most recognizable vehicles in the history of pop culture, just up there with the Delorean of “Back to the future” or Aston Martin DB5 of James Bond. Naturally, it was a great pleasant moment at the crowd where the ship was revealed in “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens”, surprisingly not in possession of Han Solo. So what happened to the fastest piece of waste in the galaxy? How did Han lose his beloved ship? We will finally get an official answer to this question.

Per Gamesradar, Marvel Comics should publish a brand new mini -series five problems this fall entitled “Star Wars: Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon”. Taking up between the events of “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens”, it will finally reveal exactly what happened with the Millennium Falcon during this period. The series is written by Rodney Barnes with illustrations by Ramon Rosanas. We also have several covers for the first issue to consult below.

As for the details of the story? The synopsis reads as follows:

In time before “The Force Awakens”, where is Millennium Falcon?! Less than satisfied with an established life, Han Solo landed on the idea of recovering the Falcon and returning to an adventure life. The problem is that he does not find it. After recruiting a less enthusiastic Chewbacca, the duo embarks on a quest to recover the largest ship in the galaxy. Standing on their way there are a list of rogues that have also claimed the Millennium Falcon, like the villainic villain who stole the Falcon, Ducain.

Recall that “Solo: A Star Wars Story” revealed how Han obtained the Millennium Falcon in the first place of Lando Calrissian. From that moment, the Falcon was Han’s baby. This is why he always seemed strange that he lost possession of his precious ship when “The Force Awakens” resumes, the film providing few details on how it happened. As such, it is really a story that deserves to be told – and as these covers reveal, Lando will (naturally) part of the procedure as well.

Marvel discovers another key element in the story of Star Wars

In “The Force Awakens”, after Han (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew and Joonas Suotamo) find Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (Joh Boyega) on board the Falcon, Rey explains that she “stole him with Unkar rather, he attracted it to Irving boys, who stole him from Duccian”. Han then responds quickly: “Who stole it to me.” That’s all we really know at this stage. Unkar rather was Jakku’s trapping played by Simon Pegg, but the film is not close to the way he ended up with the ship.

“Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon is a dream come true. Han, Leia, Chewbacca and Lando were my heroes when I was a child,” said Barnes about the next series of comics. “Writing an adventure that understands this quartet (and more!) Is really an honor. A huge verification of my list of buckets!”

A mini-series of Marvel comics looks like the perfect avenue to tell this story. After all, it is not as if Ford would adapt to a film or a Disney + series to tell this story. It is probably not a story big enough to justify the story live. Indeed, comics can be a fantastic avenue to fill the gaps left by films. A comic strip of 2020 “Star Wars” revealed what happened to the blue laser light of Luke Skywalker after having lost it during the culminating battle in “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”, for example. This seems to be another very appropriate use of the medium.

“Star Wars: Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon” # 1 strikes the shelves on September 3, 2025.
