Luis Suarez converted twice from the penalty point, including a winner of the 89th minute, and Inter Miami overcome the absence of Lionel Messi’s injury to defeat Tigers Uanl 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Miami manager Javier Mascherano was also sent at halftime. However, none of this prevented the Herons from reaching their second semi-final of the League Cup in three years and the second major semi-final this season.

Suarez’s late penalty came after referee Mario Escobar used a video review to govern Javier Aquino guilty of Handball in the region. Aquino also committed the first penalty offense which led to the opening of Suarez in the 23rd minute.

Angel Correa pulled the level of tigers in the 67th minute. Ivan Lopez almost equaled it to the first minute of the second half’s downtime with a header that struck the two goal posts but did not cross the line.

After the Mascherano ejection, he went to the stands. The television broadcast then showed it by apparently communicating with its staff by phone, who is not allowed to a coach who has been shown a red card.

Miami will host the semi-final next week against Orlando City, a team that won two regular season meetings against the Herons by a combined score of 7-1.

Orlando City 0 (6), Toluca 0 (5)

Pedro Gallese made two shooting stops, then converted Orlando’s seventh penalty to raise Orlando City after Toluca in Carson, California, and in a semi-final meeting against their Florida rivals.

Gallese denied Nicolas Castro and Juan Pablo Dominguez after each team has converted their first five kicks. Ramiro Enrique d’Orlando missed the target with a chance to win the victory a tour before Gallese won the winner.

The best finisher on the Liga MX table of the first phase and the fourth place in the League Cup in the MLS combined ranking for 15 goals in their group matches before playing with surprising surprise.

Toluca exceeded Orlando 15-4 over 90 minutes but was quite wasted. Orlando’s only shot on the goal came when Rodrigo Schlegel’s head in the 45th minute forced Luis Garcia in his sole backup.

The only judgment of Gallese regulation came from a Helinho attempt in the seventh minute.
