During his interview with host Jimmy Fallon, Lee congratulated the acting capacity of a $ AP Rocky and credited him with having held his own opposite to Denzel Washington on the set of the criminal thriller.
“Yeah, don’t sleep on a $ ap. In this film, Denzel and a $ after Go to-to-toe,” said Spike. “What is interesting is that, even before I get involved in this film, I always thought that $ AP looked like I could be the son of Denzel. There is a great resemblance. So, when you see it on the screen, it adds an element of father and threads.”
Having worked on several films with the star winner of an Oscar, Lee remembers the times he saw actors collapse in scenes with Washington. “Do not sleep on an $ AP. I made five films with Denzel, and often when he is in a scene with someone, they are just outdated. He is one of the biggest living players today, but an $ AP did not have that. Toe-toe, I mean, they were going there.”
