Last week, a certain number of different airlines were forced to cancel and delay flights due to serious weather conditions. While Southwest Airlines was among people in distress, the airline was an additional problem when it was forced to stop all departures.
Southwest declaration on the previous breakdown
On July 31, the airline published a statement apologized for a “brief breakdown” which led the carrier to suspend the runners.
Southwest Airlines temporarily stopped departures this afternoon due to a brief breakdown which assigned network connectivity to our distribution and operating system. The system has been restored and the departures resumed. We apologize to our customers for any disadvantage. Nothing is more important for the Southwest than the security of our customers and our employees.
New data reveal how many flights to the southwest
A new report of World of travel and tour revealed that the airline has canceled 758 flights in total – a lot to the main hubs of the United States such as Dallas Love Field (DAL), Denver International Airport (DEN), Chicago Midway (MDW), Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), Las Vegas McCarran (LAS), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

“Another factor is the pressure on air traffic control systems, which have been under pressure due to higher air travel demand than usual air space. These delays, aggravated by Southwest’s dependence on a point flight model, which can create planning problems when a flight is delayed, could have a waterfall and leads to such general disturbances,” she wrote.
During the weekend, several major airlines were forced to cancel flights, as weather conditions in the United States led to cancellations of more than 300 flights. It seems that the Southwest has been struck even stronger than that is originally reported.
