Sources: Oregon State fires coach Trent Bray after 0-7 start

Oregon State has fired coach Trent Bray after an 0-7 start, sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Sunday.
The Beavers lost 39-14 to Wake Forest on Saturday. It was the worst start for the Beavers since 1991, when they started 0-10.
Bray was 5-14 as coach of the Beavers after being promoted to defensive coordinator to replace Jonathan Smith. He was under contract for three more seasons.
Last week, Oregon State lost 27-23 to Appalachian State, sparking speculation that Bray could be fired. Instead, special teams coach Jamie Christian was fired after the loss.
Christian’s firing came shortly after athletic director Scott Barnes said he and Bray were evaluating the program with an eye toward making immediate changes.
“I understand and share your disappointment with the way our football season has started,” Barnes said in a statement last week. “My expectations for our program are high, and right now we are not meeting them.”
