Socal Store known for the sale of Labubus ransacked by thieves

Labus’s frenzy seems to have reached the burglary point.

A store in La Puente which is known for its stock of adorable monsters and other goods was introduced Wednesday morning, according to publications on social networks. The viral sensation known as the Labubus can look like a child’s toy, but they are highly sought after by adults and, apparently, thieves.

One Stop Sales shared video sequences on their Instagram page of burglars tried in the store on Glendora Avenue around 1:30 am, masked thieves can be seen several boxes. The store shared surveillance images of a white Toyota Tacoma which would be involved in burglary.

“Today, we have been stolen and they took our whole inventory, ransacked our store,” said store owners in an Instagram post. “We are still in shock.”

The store had promoted its inventory on social networks in the days before the break -in, including highly sought -after labu monsters.

Thieves stole several Labu doll boxes “evaluated at around seven thousand dollars” according to the Sheriff department of the County of Los Angeles.

The authorities confirmed that thieves were masked during the break -in and the white van used in the burglary was found, but there was no arrest report.

One Stop Sales, which opened its doors in May, sells plush animals and other items in “blind boxes”, which are sealed items that include pendants or collecting figurines that can be stylized as fashion accessories. The showcase has Labubus, which is exclusively sold by the Chinese Pop Mart store. The store also sells clothes and other items for collectors to stylize their Labu pendants.

Last year, the K-Pop Lisa superstar published a video on Instagram of its embrace in a large Labu plush doll. The doll has accessories, including a handbag and pendants.

A single Labu character costs $ 28 and often sells quickly when available online. But Labubus can sell to double or triple their price on the secondary market due to their popularity. NBC reports that a life -size labu has sold $ 170,000 during an auction in Beijing in June.
