Snow impacts expected to continue

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for the area tonight due to a band of snow that continues to move through the area.
This band of snow brought heavy snow activity (over 3 inches) to much of southern Ohio and north-central West Virginia. As this band heads south overnight, much of the region will begin to experience clearing.
However, areas south of I-64 will begin to see some of this snow develop overnight. If you didn’t see much snow today, you probably won’t see any tonight. However, areas at higher elevations could gain a few more centimeters. Meanwhile, the mountains will continue to see this snow accumulate. 3 to 6+ of snow is expected in places like Summersville and Richwood.
High pressure will begin to return to the area as we head into the middle and end of this week, possibly leading to the return of warmer temperatures to the area.
These warmer temperatures will also bring rain chances for the weekend, before another cold front sweeps through the region. Temperatures will climb back into the 60s ahead of this cold front by Sunday.
