Remarks
**Kosher salt adds a nice touch that ties everything together, but flaky sea salt also works.
***The water bath method helps gently melt the chocolate without seizing it. Make sure the the water does not touch the bottom of your bowl—the steam does the work!

how to make s’mores bark step by step photos

Gather the ingredients.

Melt the chocolate: Bring 1 to 2 inches of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Using a stainless steel or glass bowl, mix 1½ cups of chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of butter, then place the bowl in the water until the chocolate becomes smooth and completely melted. This usually takes me about 3-5 minutes.

Arrange the crackers: Arrange 12 whole graham crackers on a baking dish lined with parchment paper.

Layer on chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate over the graham crackers and spread it evenly to coat them well. I find that an offset spatula is the best tool for doing this.

Add the marshmallow cream: Add spoonfuls of marshmallow cream and use a knife or toothpick to gently incorporate it into the chocolate.

Add the toppings: Sprinkle the bark with ½ cup mini marshmallows, 2 crushed graham crackers, then finish with ¼ teaspoon salt.

Freeze and serve: Freeze for at least 2 hours until firm. Once set, break it into pieces and enjoy!
How to store
Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. This helps keep the chocolate firm and prevents the marshmallow from becoming too sticky. If your kitchen is cool and dry (and not on hot summer days), you can store the bark at room temperature in an airtight container for 2 to 3 days. But for a better texture and to avoid melting chocolate, the refrigerator is recommended.
For longer storage, freeze the bark. Place the pieces in a freezer-safe container with parchment paper between layers. It will keep well for up to 3 months. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating so it’s easier to bite into.
what to serve with s’mores bark
I love serving this s’mores bark as part of a holiday dessert platter. Its campfire-inspired gooey goodness pairs perfectly with the festive treats I love to arrange alongside: super cute sugar cookies that bring a pop of color, classic gingerbread cookies that fill the table with warm spices, and a batch of eggnog cookies for that unmistakable holiday richness. Together they create a nostalgic, comfortable and absolutely irresistible spread.
