Slipped back to the iPad with the latest iPados 26.1 Beta

Apple surprised the users of the iPad earlier this year when it deleted the slide, the floating mini-window mode which was part of iPados from iOS 9, and replaced it with a feverish interface more type of office which allows you to resize and freely move the windows of the application.
The change seems to have upset some iPad users who loved the easier multitasking. If you are one of them, we have good news: with the iPados 26.1 Beta 2 which has just released them, Apple has quietly brought the shift, although in a slightly different form.
How the new slide on
The latest beta version of iPados 26.1 adds a slide on the back. Users will find it by pressing and holding the green resizing button in the upper left corner of any application window. In addition to the current options to move and resize, there is now a “slide” button.
Once you have put an application in the slide, it behaves roughly the same way as before. The window floats on other applications instead of sitting in a divided view. This time, Apple also allows users to resize applications in the new slide, and they can move the mini window around the screen by dragging.
The change essentially combines the flexibility of the new multitasking of iPados 26 with the convenience of the slide for fast access applications such as messages or music.
Why it matters
The great advantage of the slide is that the window always remains at the front, regardless of the number of other open applications. It is ideal when you need to access information in a specific multitasking application.
Many iPAD users, especially those who often keep a second application at hand for fast tasks, have missed a slide when it disappeared in iPados 26. Reduing it shows that Apple listens to the comments of the testers that found the new fepe system less practical for the relaxed multitasking.
Availability
For the moment, the iPados 26.1 Beta 2 is only available for developers – and should be published in a day or two to public beta testers. Apple should publish iPados 26.1 to the general public later this month.
