The six-flag amusement park “California’s Great America” could close in the near future after half a century in operation.
The current lease of the Bay Area Park should end in mid-2012.
During a recent investor meeting, the six -flag financial director said that the park would close its doors after the 2027 season unless they extend the lease.
The park will celebrate its 50th season next year.
The CFO said that the park had a very low profit margin.
“California’s Great America” opened its doors in 1976 under the name of “Marriott’s Great America”.
The parent company of the park, Cedar Fair, merged with six flags last year.
