Shudder buys ‘Honey Bunch’ before the first of the Toronto Film Festival

Shudder acquired “Honey Bunch”, the new Psychological Gothic thriller of the filmmaker Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli, before her first North American at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Written and directed by Sims-Fewer and Mancinelli, “Honey Bunch” Stars Grace Glowicki (“Dead Lover”), Ben Petrie (“Blackberry”), Jason Isaacs (“The White Lotus”), Kate Dickie (“The Witch”), India Brown (“Invasion”) and Julian Richings (“Beau Est Froraté”). The agreement includes rights in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. “Honey Bunch” should make his debut on Shudder in 2026.

The film is Sims-Fewer and the second feature by Mancinelli after their first “violation”, which was published by Shudder and was created at the Toronto International Film Festival 2020 before projecting to Sundance and Sxsw. After his world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival of this year, “Honey Bunch” will do his first in the United States at the Fantastic Fest later this month.

In “Honey Bunch”, Diana (Glowicki) wakes up a coma with fragmented memories. She and her husband (Petrie) are looking for experimental treatments in a distant establishment. As the procedures intensify, their marriage is put to the test and Diana begins to question the true motivations of her husband.

“Honey Bunch” is produced by Becky Yeboah, Sims-Fewer and Mancinelli for Lossières cats and media. Executive producers include Niv Fichman, Fraser Ash, Kevin Krikst, Ben Petrie, Tenille Shockey, François Dagenais, William Woods, Aram Tertzakian, Nate Bolotin, Maxime Cottray, Todd Brown, Adrian Love and Mike O’Leary. XYZ Films financed the film in collaboration with IPR.VC and manages global licenses outside Canada. The agreement was negotiated by Gotto to shiver with Nate Bolotin and Pip NGO for Xyz Films on behalf of filmmakers.
