On Israel, more Democrats should praise Trump

In December 1983, the Rev. Jesse Jackson traveled to Syria to request the release of an American airman who had been shot down there. This went against the wishes of President Ronald Reagan, who thought Jackson was being demagogy by launching his own campaign for the White House. Reagan also feared that Jackson’s intercession would incite the Syrians to persist or even harm Navy Lt. Robert O. Goodman Jr., the captured aviator.
