“Shreyas Iyer should have slapped me”: Shashank Singh reflects on the expensive run-out in the IPL 2025 campaign of Punjab Kings

Shashank Singh likes the losses season with the bat
One of the most remarkable artists in the Kings of Punjab this season has been Shashank Singh. The 33 -year -old striker became a powerful presence in the middle order, ending as the second largest scorer of the team. He accumulated 341 points at an impressive striking rate of 153, playing several crucial shots that helped the Punjab to reach the final. His intrepid approach and his own strike were key elements of the team’s success throughout the campaign.

Shashank remembers the blunder
While Shashank had a great season, a moment in qualifying 2 against the Mumbai Indians continues to haunt him – the occasional run -out which has become a subject of viral discussion. Chasing 208, Shashank was dismissed on the 17th after being caught short by a net of Hhelik Pandya. The striker, who admitted was too relaxed during the race, took full responsibility for the expensive error.
Shashank admitted having left the team to die for with his occasional race between the counters, joking Shreyas Iyer “Should have slapped it” for the error. He revealed that even his father was so disappointed that he only told him about the final. Recognizing the gravity of the moment, Shashank said that Iyer was obviously upset and told him that he did not expect such an error, although the captain later showed his support by taking him for dinner – illuminated both hard love and camaraderie within the team.
“I deserve it, Ier should have slapped me. My father did not tell me to the final. I was relaxed – I was walking on the beach, not even in the garden. Shashank told the Indian Express.
