Shohei Ohtani Dodgers raises eyebrows with comments on the change of position possible

There have been a lot that has changed for Shohei Ohtani since the 2021 season.

The superstar has won three most useful players of players, probably with a fourth on the way. He exchanged southern California in Los Angeles Angels at the Los Angeles Dodgers. One thing he did not do, however, is to play on the outside field.

Ohtani played the six games in the right field in 2021, the only games he played in the major baseball league in any position, but launchers and designer. Is there somehow a realistic scenario in which he could do it again?

According to the man himself, it could happen in the playoffs this year if the Dodgers asked him to do so.

“As a player, if I was told to go somewhere, I want to be ready to do it,” Japanese journalists told Ohtani on Tuesday evening, according to Thomas Harrigan of MLB.com. “It’s on the mound and maybe even in the outside field.”

The Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, took care not to suggest that it was on the table, but he did not exclude the possibility of ohtani to play the outdoor field either.

“He wants to help us win a championship. So I’m all about,” said Roberts by Harrigan. “I do not know if it will happen. He did not play the outside field. But I appreciate the fact that he is open to everything we need. So, I don’t know what it looks like. He did not take a fly ball all year round.”

The most likely scenario in which Ohtani would play the outdoor field could be a game in which he was also available to come from the enclosure of the Lights, which Ohtani also told journalists that he was open to do, according to Harrigan’s report.

This would allow dodgers to use it as lift, replace it on the mound and always keep the stain of the design designated in the range.

This is one of the most entertaining possibilities of a playoff series that is sure to be full of twists and turns.
