Shogen Fights on a Deserted Island in ‘Lone Samurai’ Action Trailer

“Nothing less than their heads!” Well Go USA has released an official trailer for a samurai action film titled Lone Samuraidirected by American filmmaker/producer Josh C. Waller. This just premiered at Beyond Fest 2025, where they explain in the intro: the film “reimagines the classic samurai epic through an intimate and hallucinatory lens.” When a violent and reckless ronin is shipwrecked on a remote island, he finds himself with no outlet for his rage – only the ghosts of his past and the unforgiving landscape that now surrounds him. As isolation consumes his mind, his search for peace turns into a brutal spiritual ordeal, one that blurs the line between reality and nightmare. The film stars Japanese actor Shogen (real name Shogen Itokazu) as Riku, with Keigo Sunagawa, Yuma Sunagawa, Sumire Ashinaand badass Indonesian actor Yayan Ruhian you will recognize The Raid movies. The festival adds: “With sparse dialogue, stark visuals and a surreal crescendo that merges The castaways existential solitude with the feverish pulp of Cursed Temple, [the film] becomes a meditation on redemption, madness and survival. “That looks pretty cool!
