EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed there are Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Eau Claire County.
We contacted the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office after receiving tips from community members. Sheriff Dave Riewestahl confirmed there are ICE agents in Eau Claire County. Riewestahl does not know in which towns and/or villages they are located.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office said it was not involved in any ICE operations and that ICE had not contacted it for help in arresting people.
We also contacted the Eau Claire Police Department. They say they have also received calls from citizens. They are not involved in any ICE operations.
