First trailer for ‘Midwinter Break’ starring Lesley Manville and Ciarán Hinds

“There is a debt to pay, and I have been looking for a way to pay it…” What happened to them all those years ago? Focus Features has revealed an official trailer for a film titled Winter breakadapted from the book of the same name written by Irish author Bernard MacLaverty. “A day they cannot forget. A truth they cannot escape.” Winter break is a moving meditation on faith, commitment, and the enduring power of love, as a longtime couple takes a life-changing trip to Amsterdam. Lesley Manville And Ciaran Hinds Star Stella & Gerry, a retired couple whose winter trip to Amsterdam awakens troubled memories of their past. Obviously these memories are about the Troubles in Ireland and what happened at the time. The cast also includes Julie Lambert And Ed Sayer as younger versions of Stella and Gerry in flashbacks. It looks like it has a lot of gorgeous photos of Amsterdam, I’m just sad to find out the truth about their relationship.

Midwinter Break follows Stella & Gerry (Lesley Manville & Ciarán Hinds), a long-married couple who reach a crossroads in their relationship when they take a trip to Amsterdam during the winter. Based on the book by Bernard MacLaverty. Winter break is directed by a British director and filmmaker Polly Findlaymaking her debut as a feature film director after directing various stage productions and live theater. The screenplay is written by Nick Payne. Adapted from the novel of the same name written by Bernard MacLaverty. Produced by Guy Heeley, Floor Onrust. With music by Hannah Peel. Focus Features to debut Findley Winter break film in select U.S. theaters starting on February 20, 2026 coming this winter. No UK release date is set yet – stay tuned. Who wants to watch?
