She-Hulk Tatiana Maslary star exhorts fans to cancel Disney + after the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel

How is it for real heroism? Many of us are always in shock from the unprecedented news that ABC has indefinitely drawn the comedy show at the end of the evening “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” It is such a blatant violation of the rights of the first amendment protecting the freedom of expression it obtains, by sending shock waves both to the political scene and the landscape of entertainment. But not everyone is sitting and allows it to go undisputed. A number of public figures and activists have used their platforms to denounce this, and one in particular has done so in the strongest terms – despite a very real risk for his career.
Actor Tatiana Maslany, better known for his role under the name of various clones in “Orphan Black” and as Jennifer Walters in “She-Hulk: Avocty at Law” of Marvel, went to social networks to denounce Disney (the mother company of ABC) for his decision to withdraw Jimmy Kimmel from the air. In fact, she went even further and turned to her fans to have an even larger and more tangible impact. In her Instagram history on her personal account, Maslany has published an image behind the scenes of the filming of “She-Hulk” with a legend urging his half-millions of followers to act and boycott the three main streaming services of Disney:
“Cancel your [Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN] Subscriptions! “”
In a fun touch, Maslany included an extract of “who is this girl?” By Eve, one of the needle drops of the episode of the first of “She-Hulk”. Obviously, it is not every day that you see an acclaimed actor and winner of an Emmy expressing himself against a company for which they worked before … but these are not exactly normal times. Extreme actions require extreme responses, regardless of future ramifications. While “She-Hulk” was probably not going to receive a second season anyway, online rumors swirled that the character could potentially return to “Avengers: Doomsday”. This potential awkwardness only makes this case to burn possibly a significant bridge all the more laudable.
Tatiana Maslany is far from the only public figure that denounces Disney censorship
It would be one thing if Tatiana Maslany was the only notable name calling Disney on the carpet for their controversial decision to suspend “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Indefinitely, but a tidal wave of actors, filmmakers and other public figures has joined the chorus in recent days. The writer and creator “lost”, Damon Lindelof, also visited Instagram to express his doubts against Disney, declaring that “I was shocked, saddened and furious by the suspension of yesterday and I look forward to lifting it soon. If this is not the case, I cannot in good conscience for the company that imposed it.” The star of “Transparent” Amy Landecker echoes these feelings in her own publication on social networks, going so far as to publish a screenshot of his own Disney + cancellation in an implicit encouragement for his supporters to do the same. The director and writer still outside Boots Riley, known for “sorry to disturb you” and the main videos series “i’m a virgo”, published the following on X (formerly known as Twitter) to support a boycott by the powerful Guild of America Directors Guild of America (DGA):
“If DGA has its members do not appear to any ABC / Disney / Hulu / Marvel emission until they strengthen Kimmel’s decision, they will reverse the decision in the maximum. The DGA has only strike.
Disney has not yet commented on any of these rapid and vocal reactions from various corners of the industry. For those looking for even more direct methods to join us, the popular exhibitor of the Co. Box Office Account Account has published a complete “game book” on X to express their dissatisfaction and be heard.
