Shaheen Afridi BANNED midway through BBL for dangerous bowling against Melbourne Renegades

Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, making his Big Bash League debut, endured a nightmare outing with the ball for Brisbane Heat against Melbourne Renegades. The left-arm fast bowler lost runs at a high rate and failed to complete his third over, forcing a teammate to step in and finish it.
Tim Seifert became the first batter to reach triple figures in this year’s Big Bash League. After a steady start, the New Zealand opener changed gear dramatically, punishing the Brisbane Heat attack with six sixes and nine fours. The Renegades posted a formidable total of 212 for 5 in Geelong on Monday (December 15).
Shaheen Afridi endures difficult BBL debut
Shaheen Afridi has had a tough start to his Big Bash League career. The Pakistani fast bowler struggled with his control and conceded 28 runs in his first two overs.

He was brought back in the bottom of the inning to try to slow the scoring, but things got worse. Afridi bowled two Beamers in the 18th over and the umpires stopped him from bowling for the rest of the match.
Afridi gave away 17 runs off just four legal deliveries. The left-arm fast bowler bowled three no-balls in the same over, including two overs, which led to him being removed from the attack. Nathan McSweeney was asked to play the remaining balls.
The BBL then shared a video from the projector, captioning it: “Wow. On his BBL debut, Shaheen Afridi was removed from the attack!”

Mohammad Rizwan battles for Big Bash League debut
Shaheen Afridi’s Pakistani teammate Mohammad Rizwan has had a disappointing start to his career in the Big Bash League. He came to bat at No. 3 but struggled to score freely. Rizwan managed just four runs from 10 balls before being dismissed by Patrick Dooley.
Rizwan never looked steady during his short stay at the crease, his slow innings ending in the seventh over. On the other side, Tim Seifert produced a match-winning performance for the Renegades. Seifert smashed a brilliant century, scoring 102 off just 56 balls with nine fours and six sixes.
The Renegades crossed the 200-run mark for the first time at the venue and posted a total of 212 for 5 in their 20 overs.
Tim Seifert enters Melbourne Renegades record books
Tim Seifert etched his name in the Melbourne Renegades record books with a memorable hundred, becoming only the second player from the franchise to score a century in the Big Bash League, alongside Aaron Finch.
“Just the second Renegade to bring up the ton, great innings from Tim Seifert. Boy, that meant a bit,” Mark Howard said.
Former Australia coach Darren Lehmann has expressed excitement about the future of young striker Ollie Peake, saying he has shown enough to earn a place at international level.
“I’ve seen enough, this kid will play for Australia,” he said on the ABC panel.
