Several people placed in police custody during raid immigration to Santa Fe Springs Swap meet

Santa Fe Springs, California (KABC) – Several people were placed in police custody on Saturday afternoon during an apparent immigration raid to the Santa Fe Springs exchange competition.

The operation took place around 3:30 p.m. along the Alondra boulevard, right next to Highway 5.

Air7 was above the stage and captured an exclusive video of federal agents on the property, putting people in police custody. The agents seemed accompanied by navies, who were armed.

A witness told Eyewitness News that there were about 60 glacial and sea agents.

Several people were meeting for a Saturday evening concert, which was then canceled.

“First of all, it was a bit incredible because I saw it, and that hadn’t happened to me directly,” said a visitor. “I do not live in this area, I live in the San Fernando valley, so seeing him from the first hand was a little shocking, but also very discouraging. My father came to this country in 1968 and works very hard. I know that many Latinos work very hard, it’s just discouraging the amount of fear they create.”

A witness said the agents ask people where they came from.

“I told them that I came from the United States, then they continued to move away, and they took a photo of me with a specialized cell phone camera,” he said. “I took it as a personal threat. I have an uncle that served during the Second World War. I have a uncle that served in Korea.”

Eyewitness News contacted Homeland Security Investigations for more details on Saturday operations but did not receive an answer
