Senator John Fetterman came to Walter Reed for clinical depression

Senator John Fetterman has registered in a hospital to receive treatment for clinical depression, his office announced on Thursday.

“Last night, Senator John Fetterman registered at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to receive treatment for clinical depression,” a statement from the Pennsylvania Democrat office. “Although John has experienced a depression from time to time throughout her life, she has only become serious in recent weeks.”

According to the press release, Fetterman was evaluated on Monday by a doctor in the congress, who recommended hospital care at the Walter Reed Medical Center.

“John accepted, and he receives treatment on a voluntary basis,” said his office. “After examining John, Walter Reed’s doctors told us that John received the care he needs and will soon be back for himself.”

Gisele Barreto Fetterman, Fetterman’s wife, tweeted the declaration, adding: “After what he went through in the past year, there is probably no one who wanted to talk about his own health less than John. I am so proud of him for having asked for help and get the care he needs.”
