The owner of the Bengals Mike Brown on Trey Hendrickson Contract Standoff: “ We want it here ”
Cincinnati and Hendrickson disagree on a contract extension, the negotiations that turn in the magnitude of this offseason. The Rusher Pass has requested long -term security in recent years in vain.
The 30 -year -old led the NFL with 17.5 bags and 92 QB pressures in 2024, by next generation statistics. Hendrickson has been carrying out the NFL with 35.0 bags since 2023. He is one of the five players to have more than 17 bags during the consecutive seasons of all time (since 1982). Others: Reggie White (Hall of Famer), Richard Dent (Hall of Famer), JJ Watt, Mark Gastineau.
With a horde of rushers of passes which was paid for this offseason, in particular Myles Garrett and TJ Watt each obtaining 40 million dollars per year, the wait for Hendrickson to see his day of pay continue. Hope in Cincy is that the impasse is settled at the start of the camp.
Bengals are also without a first -round Pass Shemar Stewart, which is also in dispute with the club. Brown said he thought that the dead end will come to a conclusion “at some point”.
“This is a very special thing, it is not a matter of money. It has been agreed for months,” said Brown, via the Associated Press. “It is a negotiation that has reached the level of, I can only think of a word that I should not use here, but it is stupidity. We will have to wait for us to get a better result. I think it will eventually happen. I do not think it will happen today or tomorrow, but at some point.”
