Seattle sailors can legitimately win everything with this Julio

Death, taxes and Julio Rodríguez in the second half.

At this point, it is starting to become like watchmaking. After another first half of the season a little ordinary, the field player of the Seattle Mariners Marine Center was one of the best MLB players in the past two months.

Since July 11, Rodríguez ranks second in the majors of Home Runs (19), second in punching percentage (0.649), second at FWAR (3.2), fifth in OPS (1.002), ninth on average in the stick (0.313) and equal for 15th in stolen bases (10), according to the Fangraphs.

What would that mean for the navy if Rodríguez supports this level of production until September and October?

Jon Morosi of MLB Network addressed this possibility during his weekly appearance on Wyman and Bob de Seattle Sports.

“If Julio plays like that, as if he has played in the second half – and (Cal) Raleigh continues to play at his MVP pace, and you look in the rest of the programming and say, ok, if you may get a home run or two each series of Geno (Eugenio Suárez) in the playoffs and that you start to project – is the kind of team that can legitimately win a world series” Morosi.

“He can do things that no one else can do when he really rides – defense, athletics, basic flight, all these types of things,” added Morosi. “He’s just one player when he really goes. And lately, he’s gone.”

If the navies reach the playoffs for the second time since Rodríguez made his debut in 2022, Morosi thinks he could go in October.

“I think we are now going to have a chance – probably, as long as the navies are finishing this – to see it now in a second playoff series where I think it will be a little more comfortable,” said Morosi. “And he has this Carlos Correa type atmosphere from him to where Correa said, ok, it’s my time, I want to be in the playoffs.

“I think that if you give Julio enough chance, he has the opportunity to have one of these types of octobres.”
