Scotty Bowman, Ron Francis makes the class of the Penguins renown temple

Pittsburgh – Scotty Bowman and Ron Francis Tit the class of the Pittsburgh Penguins renown in 2025.

Bowman, the most winning coach of all NHL time, and Francis, the fifth top scorer of all time in the league, were both important members of Pittsburgh teams in the early 1990s who won the first two Stanley Cups in the franchise.

The duo, both at the renowned hockey temple, will be joined by striker Kevin Stevens and former coach / managing director Eddie Johnston at a ceremony on the ice when the Penguins welcome Columbus on October 25.

The four inducted played a role in Pittsburgh becoming one of the renowned attractions of the League in the late 1980s and the early 1990s.

Johnston was the managing director when the Penguins drafted the Mario Lemieux renowned temple with the first global choice in 1984 and were then a club’s head coach from 1993 to 1997.

Bowman was the personnel director of Pittsburgh players during the 1990-1991 season, during which he helped the club involve a series of veterans – including Francis – to complete a list ready to compete for a title. Bowman took office as a head coach in 1991 after Bob Johnson was forced to resign due to a diagnosis of brain cancer shortly after driving the Penguins to a championship.

Pittsburgh won its second consecutive Stanley Cup in 1992 with Bowman behind the bench. He then guided the Penguins to the presidents trophy in 1992-1993 but left the following off-season in a contractual dispute.

Francis spent eight seasons at Pittsburgh after having come to a business with the Hartford Whalers. He scored 164 goals to go with 449 assists to the Penguins, adding 100 other points in the playoffs.

Stevens was a triple All-Star through his two stays in Pittsburgh, scoring 260 goals and adding 295 assists in 522 games with the club.
