Exactly three years ago this month, in May 2022, production began on an action thriller called Tin soldierWith director Brad Furman (Lincoln’s lawyer) at the helm and a casting made up of Scott Eastwood (Wings), Robert de Niro (Taxi driver), and Jamie Foxx (Radius). You would think that a project like this would have an easy race in the world-but Deadline reports that it has just guaranteed North American distribution through Samuel Goldwyn Films. They plan to release the film later this year.
Scripted by Furman and Jess Fuerst, the film has the following synopsis: The Bokushi (Foxx) preaches hundreds of veterans who have been attracted to the promise of protection and goal under it. Surrounded by his devotee followers and trained by the soldiers, he built an impenetrable fortress and had an arsenal of weapons. After several failed infiltration attempts, the government – in the form of the military operation Emmanuel Ashburn (de Niro) – recruits Nash Cavanaugh (Eastwood), a former special forces asset, which was once a disciple of Bokushi. Nash agrees to use his vulnerable past and his knowledge of initiates from the enigmatic leader to finally take revenge on the man who took everything to him, including the love of his life. Previous reports have revealed that John Leguizamo (Land of the Dead), Mamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp), Rita Ora (the Fifty shades Franchise), Nora Arnezeder (The offer), Saïd Taghmaoui (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) and Joey Bicicchi (Black bird) are also in the distribution.
Furman and the research produced Tin soldier Alongside Steven Chasman and Keith Kjarval. The film comes from unified photos and current entertainment.
Although I cannot see the title without thinking about the song “One Tin Soldier” of the 1971 classic Billy Jack And I’m going to put this song stuck in my head every time I see anything on Tin soldierIt looks like an interesting film for me and I can’t wait to check it.
