DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) — A winter storm warning remains in effect for central North Carolina counties due to black ice early in the morning and freezing temperatures for most of the day. Areas that received snow will experience dangerous conditions as temperatures remain below freezing through Tuesday afternoon.
Some area school districts called out Tuesday following winter weather Monday and the threat of icy conditions early Tuesday.

Durham Public Schools will be closed to students and staff on Tuesday.

Orange County schools will be closed for students and staff on Tuesday/All extracurricular activities are canceled.
Johnston County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay Tuesday.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay Tuesday.
Franklin County Schools will be closed Tuesday for students and staff
Granville County schools will be closed Tuesday.
Halifax County school to hold remote learning classes only
Lee County schools open 2 hours late.
Warren County Schools will be closed to students and staff on Tuesday. This will be a remote day for staff members.
Wayne County will start Tuesday with a 2-hour delay.
Central Carolina Community College: 2 hour delay.
Eastern Carolina Christian College will be closed Tuesday
