Johansson, who shares Cosmo with her husband Colin Jost. revealed that some members of his family weren’t as enthusiastic about the name as others.
“When we named our son Cosmo, I didn’t tell anyone for that reason. I didn’t want any strange faces. You know, when you tell someone he does that, ‘Oh, that’s… that’s different,'” Johansson said. “You know, when they do that, and you’re like, ‘What’s going on? You don’t like that?'”

Talk with Additional about her directorial debut In Eleanor the Great, Johansson opened up about how she and Jost balance their careers and parenting. The proud mom of two told host Derek Hough that the couple have “two wonderful babysitters” who help them balance it all.
“We have two wonderful babysitters who help us. So shout out to them,” she shared. “Really, truly, we couldn’t do it without help. It’s hard to balance two busy schedules, but we do everything we can.”
She went on to say that the couple strives to maintain as much routine as possible, which means they can’t always do everything.
“My kids are young. They thrive on a routine. So you try to make a routine possible. And sometimes that means you don’t do everything,” she said. “You feel guilty that you’re missing certain elements of work that you should be responsible for, and then you’re at home, and when you’re at work, you feel like you’re missing certain elements of parenting that you should be responsible for. So there’s always that.”
“But I think if you can close the gap as much as possible by sharing responsibilities with the other person and communicating, that’s how you do it.”
In January, while appearing in another episode of Today with Jenna and her friendsJohansson shared more about her relationship with her daughter Rose, adding that she recently introduced her to the concept of “ghosting.”
The guest co-host said she had a conversation with Rose when her daughter confided in her that she had stopped talking to a boy who liked her.
“I just had this conversation with my 10-year-old daughter about ghosting because there was this little boy who liked her, and then she didn’t feel the same way anymore,” she began. “She just stopped talking to him frankly and he felt really bad. And I was telling him that I introduced the concept of ghosts.”
“It really makes the other person feel bad about themselves. It kind of puts them in this spiral,” Johansson added, before admitting that she ghosted people when she was dating. “I hate confrontation.”
