San Siro: Sale of Ca Employe

AC Milan and Inter Milan say that they are “very satisfied” after the municipal council approved the sale of the San Siro, a decision which could lead to the demolition of the emblematic stadium.
A sale of the home of the two Milan clubs was approved after a long night vote, with debates that took place for almost 12 hours.
Approval could lead to the 99 -year -old land and its surroundings sold to the two clubs for 197 million euros (172 million pounds sterling), but it must still be officially confirmed by the city government.
The clubs said it was “a historic and decisive step for the future of clubs and the city”.
The San Siro has been the AC Milan stadium since 1926, but it has not been modernized since the 1990 World Cup.
They share the field with the city rivals as roommates and repeated attempts to modernize it failed.
The clubs plan to build a new food field of 71,500 as part of a large urban regeneration project, with there, which should be ready to be ready in Euro 2032 time, that Italy is joint hosts alongside Turkey.
Last week, clubs appointed architectural firms to design a new land.
“Clubs are looking at the confidence and responsibility for the next stages of the process that will lead to the creation of a new stadium that meets the highest international standards – a world class installation intended to become a new architectural icon for Milan and a symbol of the passion for football fans around the world,” said a joint declaration of clubs.
