A24 dropped the trailer for “Eddington”, the modern west of Ari Aster who divided the Cannes Festival after his first Croisette. The film will be released in the rooms of the country on July 18 – and it could very well “hit” with a heated debate.
The film takes place in 2020 – Yes, that 2020-In the most visceral way, with the local anti-masque sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) of the fictitious Eddington, in New Mexico, faced the mayor of the Guideline Advocator of the city, played by Pedro Pascal (the second of his three summer outings). The casting of Heavy Hitter also includes Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Amélie Hoeferle, Clifton Collins Jr. and William Belleau, who all represent various perspectives on the Pandemic Specter.
Indiewire reported last month on the polarizing response of the film’s public, with people really love or hate the film, and little between the two. The casting and the team addressed COVVI EPIC’s controversial reactions to a Cannes press conference.
“It’s very scary to participate in a film that talks about problems like this,” said Pascal. “It is far too intimidating a question to speak to me. I am not informed enough. I want people to be safe and protective. [Aster] Wrote something that was all our worst fears because this locking experience was already a fracturing company. “I wrote this film in a state of fear and anxiety. I wanted to try to withdraw and show what it does to live in a world where no one can agree on what is real,” added Aster to the same preseur.
David Ehrlich of Indiewire wrote in his review A that the director is “exclusively interested in making the type of films which should be reviewed directly on a prescription cushion, is too indebted to his neuroses so that his latest film plays as a cheap provocation.
Before its release, “Eddington” will open the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 16. He will be in theaters everywhere on July 18. Look at the trailer below.
