Ryan Reynolds Teams Up With Freddie Freeman For SickKids Holiday Campaign

Ryan Reynolds recruited fellow Canadian and Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman for his annual campaign to support Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children and his SickKids Foundation.
But it quickly becomes awkward for an athletic Freeman when, as part of Reynolds’ traditional holiday video, he enters a hospital room to greet young SickKids patients. “What a loser!” one of the kids in a Blue Jays jersey shouts when a bubbly Freeman introduces himself.
“Trust me, dude, we know who you are,” another kid adds sarcastically. It appears there’s little SickKids doctors can do to end the heartbreak young baseball fans are still feeling after Freeman and his Dodgers beat the Blue Jays to win the 2025 World Series.
“I asked him, I asked him in March! What are the chances?” Reynolds says Freeman followed Seth Rogen, Michael Bublé and other Canadians to support his annual fundraising campaign. But what Reynolds and Freeman are doing with their holiday video is raising awareness and funds for SickKids to help purchase key equipment for the children’s hospital.
For the seventh year in a row, Reynolds is once again wearing his Ugly Christmas Sweater to support the SickKids Foundation of Toronto. Despite being crushed by Blue Jays fans in the World Series, Freeman took over for Toronto and his SickKids hospital.
After braving taunts from young children and a hospital nurse, Freeman turns to the camera and says, “By the way, I love what you’re doing here.” » Viewers are asked to make a donation before midnight on Christmas Eve to the SickKids Foundation and an anonymous donor will match all donations up to $1 million.
This year’s annual video features SickKids patients Logan, Olivia, Daniel and Cali, as well as SickKids nurse Nadia, alongside Reynolds and Freeman.
