Ryan Day gives an overview of Julian Sayin vs Lincoln Kienholz Battle in Columbus for the 2025 season

Ohio State coach Ryan Day has given fans an update on the role of quarter-back from the team for the 2025 season. On Tuesday, during the Big Ten media day of Buckeyes, Day said that competition between Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz was still in the neck.
“It will be a fierce competition to see who is the starter,” said Day. “We are going to put them in as many competitive situations as possible to understand who manages the best, because we must be on the point of week 1. We cannot play.”
Buckeyes will have a new quarter-Arrière leaving for the 2025 season, since Will Howard, who led the team to the national title last season, went to the NFL. The Pittsburgh steelers took Howard in the sixth round of this year’s draft.

Kienholz, who engaged in Ohio State in 2023, saw the game during his first year when he replaced a wounded Levn Brown in Cotton Bowl. Kienholz finished six of the 17 passes for 86 yards in this match. However, he made no success for Ohio State last season.
Meanwhile, Sayin, who was transferred to the Ohio State of Alabama last year, took a few shots during the 2024 season. He finished five of the 12 passes for 84 yards.
Ryan Day says that Ohio State will not defend the national title, but attacking the championship next season

Although most coaches who win the national title aim to minimize their defense of title, Ryan Day adopts a different approach.
“We do not” defend “anything. They cannot take the national championship. We attack,” said Day during the Big Ten Media Day.
The Ohio State will host the Texas Longhorns in Columbus, Ohio, on August 30 to open the 2025 season.
The Longhorns are ready to put the quarter Arch for the starting role of the coming season. Manning, who comes from a family of football royalty, is considered a first favorite to win the Heisman trophy.
