Rust Driving out after finishing prison sentence in a deadly film shoot | Rust films shooting
The gunsmith sentenced to the deadly filming of 2021 involving Alec Baldwin on the set of the film Rust was published on Friday of a new-mexic prison.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was released at home in Bullhead City, Arizona. She was found guilty of manslaughter in March 2024 for the death of the director of photography Halyna Hutchins, who was killed when Baldwin discharged a propeller gun charged with a live tour during a rehearsal. Director Joel Souza was also injured.
GUTIERREZ-REED had been sentenced to the maximum sentence of 18 months in prison. It was owned in the west of the correctional establishment of New Mexico in Grants, in New Mexico.
Baldwin, the star and co -producer of the film, had faced the same accusation, but his case was rejected after the court concluded that the prosecutors had refused proofs.
GUTIERREZ-REED has been acquitted for falsification of evidence, but also purges probation to bring a firearm to a Santa Fe bar a few weeks before filming.
On Friday, the commission of conditional releases of the state of the New Mexico granted a parole of Gutierrez-Reed, according to CBS News. His certificate said she was required to follow the conditions set out by the board of directors, some of which include electronic surveillance, monitoring a curfew and obtaining a job or registering for school.
During the trial, the defense lawyers underlined the relatively young age of Gutierrez-Reed “and the devastating effect that a crime will have on his life in the future”.
“Your honor, when I took Rust, I was young and naive. But I took my work as seriously as I knew,” Gutierrez-Reed told the judge. “Please, please don’t give me more time. The jury found me in part because of this horrible tragedy, but that does not make me a monster. It makes me human.”
The accusation affair focused on how a series of live ammunition found itself on the set and in the Prop pistol which was a fully operating – Baldwin revolver. As a film’s advancer, Gutierrez-Reed had been responsible for checking each weapon on the set and ensuring that they were safe and without living ammunition.
According to Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, her husband received a diagnosis of SSPT. The actor filed a civil complaint in January for malicious prosecution and violations of civil rights against prosecutors during his trial.
Rust finished filming in Montana and was released in theaters this month.
