You don’t need to be a fan of Formula One to become a fan of Ron HowardBrilliant Briographical Racing Movie. Released in 2013, Rushing immersed in the “legendary” rivalry between James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) And Niki table (Daniel Brühl), which took place during the 1976 Formula 1 racing season.

Rush has received a treatment similar to the most recent versions of Howard (Eden, thirteen lives), which is confusing when he is an actor who became director with a lively eye and a delicate approach to transform larger than life stories into dishes on the screen. While the film made its debut with very little fanfare – earning less than $ 100 million at the world box office – it has become successful in streaming and entertainment of flight seat file.

This year’s big budget Joseph Kosinski Blockbuster, F1: the filmperhaps delivered thrills at high octane and an important box-office print, but it lacked the more interpersonal drama that Howard is so clever to deliver. Rush has everything that a public might want: a frivolous rivalry born of fundamentally misunderstanding each other; An epic divorce test between Hunt (Hemsworth) and Suzy Miller (Oliva Wilde)); and a soft romance with slow combustion between Lauda (Brühl) and Marlene Knaus-Lauda (Alexandra Maria Lara). It is not surprising that these elements are almost more fun than the race sequences defying death, if you consider the fact that Rushing was written by Peter Morgan – The man who gave Netflix his series acclaimed by criticism, The crown.

If you didn’t have the chance to catch Rushing In the past twelve years – or you are looking for a fun film to review this weekend – it is not too late to choose this classic race. Hemsworth and Brühl are dynamite in their scenes together.

There are many excellent television series, including choosing, both from the past and the broadcasting currently. Between the network, the cable and the streaming, a person could not look at everything in their lifetime. So when I meet a television series that is Really pulling on all cylindersFrom the great narration to the construction of the world in layers to a perfect casting in a setting which I cannot have enough, I want to talk to everyone. And in this case, this television series is the eight episodes, Tulsa-Noir Decrease Creator Sterlin harjo.

If you saw Booking dogs (And if you didn’t do it, you should really!), With which Harjo co-created with TanksYou know how authentic, entertaining and sincere work is. In the center of Decrease East Ethan HawkeThe character of Lee Raybon, investigative journalist and self-proclaimed “Trustthstorian” with a talent to put himself above his head and beat regularly. After the publication of his latest presentation – focused on the powerful Washberg family – Black Sheep Dale Washberg (Tim Blake Nelson) would commit suicide. But the circumstances are suspicious enough so that Lee cannot help digging deeper, attracting the attention of people who would prefer that he did not do so, including Dale’s older brother and the candidate for Governor Donald Washberg (Kyle Maclachlan).

With Maclachlan among its actors, a death that launches everything, a city full of memorable characters, a neighborhood restaurant and music that made me want the soundtrack, I couldn’t help but remember my favorite television series of all time Twin peaks. But while the similarities stop there, what the two series have in common is that Twin Peaks was the creative vision of David Lynch,, Decrease is really the creative vision of Sterlin Harjo.

While I am fully on board with what Harjo delivers with DecreaseI am also very happy to see what he continues to do in the future. The series is broadcast on FX and is available to broadcast on Hulu.

“ The remains of the day ” (1993) with Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson

Vintage films can be a little difficult to undertake, especially if you are not used to it. However, some are really worth your time; The remains of the day is one. Featuring Oscar winners Anthony Hopkins And Emma ThompsonThe film tells the story of Mr. Stevens (Hopkins), a devoted butler who is faithful to a fault at Lord Darlington (James Fox), a weak man with growing fascist sympathies. When Mrs. Kenton (Thompson) is voluntary but good heart, Stevens will see, perhaps, perhaps for the first time, her rigorous lifestyle.

A masterpiece of melancholy and desire,, The remains of the day is the kind of film that will perceive your soul and leave you a unique feeling of delicious grief. Thompson and Hopkins deliver what are the best performance of their careers (hot taking, I presume?), And the reliable touch of James Ivory gives an additional layer of dignified peat with the whole affair. I remember watching her for the first time almost fifteen years ago and thought it was so mature, so high, but never pretentious.

How can something so good taste and pricing be so raw, almost visceral? Everything is in tacit words, stolen looks, absence of contact, the affection hidden in small interactions. Of course, if you don’t like soft-love ends, it will probably not be for you. However, The remains of the day is one of the best films in the 90s; Partly study of the characters, partly exploration of a life devoid of meaning in the pursuit of duty and partly burning and unrealized romance. If you like movies like In the atmosphere for love Or Pride and damage,, SO The remains of the day Is exactly what you’re looking for.
