Roki Sasaki making a next step as a detoxification treatment; “ No pain ” on the shoulder

Los Angeles — Roki Sasaki, finally met after spending the last three months on the injured list, said on Tuesday that he had “no pain” in his right shoulder and had expressed his confidence in his ability to resume the speed of the quick ball, which began to retire before being closed.

“I feel better to be able to launch stronger, especially because I am completely painless,” said Sasaki through an interpreter. “That being said, I simply have to face the drapers live and see how my mechanics, you know, keep it. Just be coherent; being able to do it in a coherent manner.”

Sasaki is expected to launch three simulated sleeves at the Dodger Stadium during the weekend before making a rehabilitation assignment. The dodgers will stretch Sasaki as a starting launcher. It remains to be seen how it ends up being seen.

The rotation of the Dodgers is currently full, with Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow Back Healthy, Shohei Ohtani extended to at least four rounds, and Clayton Kershaw, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Emmet Sheehan constituting the other three points of a rotation of six men.

Asked if he could possibly see Sasaki occupying a place of enclosure of the readers, in particular in October, the director of the Dodgers, Dave Roberts, said: “I will hold it. I know that we are going to take the 13 best launchers. I am part of many after-season lists.

Before it is even entertained, Sasaki must simply work better.

The 23 -year -old right -hander arrived in the major leagues after being one of the most in force launchers to get out of Japan, armed with a quick three -digit ball and a folding spirit separator. But industry assessors also admitted that he still needed more seasoning. It ended up being the case early, even more than much planned.

Through his first eight departures, before landing on Il with what the Dodgers described as an impact of the shoulder, Sasaki posted an MPM of 4.72 and did not succeed six rounds on seven times. In a 34 -round section, he walked almost as many strikers (22) that he removed (24). The rapid four -fashion ball, which often lacked command, fell in the mid -90s during its last handful of outings. Often, the separator worked as its sole legitimate terrain of a major league.

Sasaki recognized that “American strikers have a different approach on the plate compared to Japanese strikers”.

“I can’t really attack the same way as I did in Japan,” he added.

In this spirit, Sasaki began to experiment with a quick ball with two seams, a terrain that takes place on opposing right -handed strikers and is designed to generate early contact, ideally balls on the ground. Hope is that he finally works as a second quick ball to pair with his separator and his cursor.

At this point, the emphasis is put on the nailing of the mechanics of its delivery so that its shoulder no longer becomes a problem. Sasaki said he had now “a better understanding a second time on how pain came and how to make sure that pain does not come back.” Its mechanics are “not 100% right now,” added Sasaki, “but I think it’s in the right direction”.

On his return, Sasaki will have to prove that he belongs.

“My intention is to come back to the Monticle of Major League and to withdraw again,” he said. “That being said, you know … I also have to fight for the opportunity. I don’t think I’m just going to give the opportunity right away.”
