Rohit Sharma, Jay Shah, Sachin Tendulkar and others join hands with DY Patil to motivate India to win the Women’s World Cup

Legendary Indian national cricket team captain Rohit Sharma arrived at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai to cheer on the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team in the final of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
Rohit Sharma was joined by his wife Ritika Sajdeh at the stadium, and other big names like cricket god Sachin Tendulkar, legendary Sunil Gavaskar, batting great VVS Laxman and ICC President Jay Shah were also seen in the stands.
Rohit Sharma supports Indian women’s team
The India women’s national cricket team is currently involved in a high-octane summit clash against the South Africa women’s national cricket team. The Proteas are a strong unit and they gave a tough fight to the Indian team.

The Indian team players produced some magical moments on the field in the ongoing match and received immense support from the crowd present in Navi Mumbai as well as across the country.
Several big superstars like Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sunil Gavaskar, along with Nita Ambani and Jay Shah were seen in the stands applauding the Women In Blue.
Rohit was seen wearing a white T-shirt and a black cap as he entered the hospitality box before taking a seat next to his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. Seeing Rohit there, his close friend and former teammate Dinesh Karthik, who was making comments, said:
“Oh, there’s a familiar sight. He wants to be part of that moment. He told me yesterday that when India crosses that line, he wants to be part of that moment and feel what it’s like to win the World Cup at home.”

Speaking in a video shared by the ICC at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, Rohit Sharma said the Indian women’s team came close to winning the title but failed to cross the finish line. He said:
“I know what they’ve been through all these years, chasing that elusive trophy. It’s always been difficult. We’ve come close many times, but we haven’t been able to get over the line. It’s the same story for both teams over the last 15 years. I really hope they get over it this time.”

The World Cup-winning captain further praised India for playing sensational cricket over the past few years and hoped that the team would finally cross the finishing line and win their first-ever World Cup. He said:
“The way we played that game was just superb to watch. So I’m not surprised to see 50,000 people here today. With them, the whole nation is behind these 15 players.”
“They have already made giant strides in the last five or six years – and it will only grow from here on,” Rohit added. “I hope they win the crown today. It will not only benefit these players, but also the younger generation who look up to them. There are no better ambassadors for the game than those that exist now.”
