The Colorado Rockies did not have much to celebrate this season, but they come home after swepting the Miami Marlins.
The Colorado has entered this 9-50 series and with a single sequence of two-game victories this season. The rocks won three games in a row and will try to make four consecutive when they welcome New York Diets booming on Friday evening.
The dishes will send Kodai Senga (6-3, 1.60 ERA) to the mound against Antonio Senzatela of Colorado (1-10, 7.14) in a revenge match of the Saturday match in New York.
Senga granted only two points in 6 1/3 rounds in the 8-2 Mets victory. Senzatela was tagged for seven points in four rounds.
This loss was the seventh of the Rockies during a skid of eight games, but their fortune has since brightened. Balayage was their first since May 2024, and it was their first serial victory of the season. Despite the pace to break the modern record for 121 defeats Chicago, established last season, the players of Colorado do not focus on negativity.
“It’s incredible to get the scan,” said Hunter Goodman recipient, who went 7 for 13 with three circuits against the Marlins. “We have played some of the best baseball teams in the past two weeks, and we feel like we get away from every game. To be able to finish certain games and win three in a row as we did this week gives us a lot of momentum.”
Senzatela will try to continue continuing to go against New York. In seven career appearances (six departures) against the dishes, it is 2-4 with an MPM of 4.24.
Senga was more successful against the Rockies, going 2-0 with an MPM of 1.46 in two starts. He has 11 stick withdraws in 12 1/3 rounds against Colorado, but Friday will be his first outing in Denver.
Thursday afternoon, New York has a difficult 6-5 defeat against Los Angeles Dodgers. The dishes divided the four game series in Los Angeles but won nine of their last 12 in total.
They may not have a Francisco Lindor available due to a straight fractured pink toe, but New York did not place the stop on the injured list. Lindor suffered the injury when he was struck by land during the first round against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
He stayed in the match but did not play Thursday, and manager Carlos Mendoza said Lindor was considered on a daily basis.
Lindor hopes to be able to start the opener in Denver.
“If I can tolerate the pain, yes, I will play,” he said. “If I can’t, then it would be unfair to play with 25 guys on the list. It’s not just for the guys who are here. I hope I feel pretty good.”
His eagerness to oppose Colorado is justified, because Lindor went 6 for 11 with three circuits during the scan in New York last weekend. He also prefers to play in the field and not serve as a designated striker.
“The way I see it is, if I am good enough to hit and run, I should be able and good enough to play the stop stop,” said Lindor.
