Today, I learned that “hippotherapy” is not quite what I wanted.

The integration of Kuka robots into robotic physiotherapy equipment offers many advantages, such as precise movement planning and control of robot assisted therapy, individualized training, reduced therapist’s workload and monitoring patients. Consequently, these robotic therapies can be greater than many conventional physical therapies in the restoration of patient members.

MIT engineers embark on the ping-pong robotic game with a powerful and light design that returns shots with high-speed precision. The new Table-Tennis bot includes a robotic arm with several rolls which is fixed at one end of a ping-pong table and branches a standard ping-pong paddle. Helped by several high -speed cameras and a wide -band predictive control system, the robot quickly estimates the speed and trajectory of an incoming ball and performs one of the many types of swing – loop, driving or hop – to hit the ball precisely to a desired location on the table with various types of spin.

The reversal of the pan involves dynamically turning various objects, such as eggs, burglar buns and meat pancakes. This demonstrates the accuracy, agility and ability to adapt to different challenges in movement control. Our frame allows robots to learn very dynamic movements.

Traditional quadcopters excel in the agility and handling of flights, but often face limitations in overview and horizontal field of vision. The rotary wings inspired by nature, while offering a broader perspective and an improved plating efficiency, are hampered by substantial restrictions of angular moment. In this study, we introduce Quadrotary, a new vehicle that integrates the forces of the two flight characteristics thanks to a reconfigurable design.

I like the idea of a humanoid who uses the jump as a primary mode of locomotion not because he owes it, but because it is fun.

A new 10,000 gallons [38,000-liter] The University of Michigan water reservoir will help researchers design, build and test a variety of autonomous submarine systems that could help robots map lakes and oceans and perform vessels of ships and bridges. The reservoir, funded by the Office of Naval Research, allows Roboticians to test more projects on the control and behavior of robots, detection and perception of marine and multi-site coordination.

“The tradition is that it helps to revive research, because each test tank is a living reservoir for all the knowledge acquired inside,” said Jason Bunoff, principal engineer in research at Friedman Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratory in UM. “You mix the waters of other tanks to impregnate the newly founded reservoir with all this living knowledge of other tanks, which helps prevent the knowledge of getting lost.”

This seminar on Michigan robotics is from Danfei Xu by Georgia Tech, on “generative planning of tasks and movements”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzqaztr-04e

Long horizon planning is fundamental for our ability to solve complex physical problems, from the use of tools to kitchen dinners. Despite recent progress in foundation models in good sense, the ability to make the same lack in robots, especially with learning -based approaches. In this presentation, I will present a set of works which aims to transform the planning of tasks and movements – one of the most powerful calculation frames of robot planning – in a fully generative model frame, allowing the generalization of composition in an approach largely focused on data.
