In his first post, the blackmailer described himself as Rinku’s biggest supporter and expressed his hope for success before asking for help in a seemingly harmless manner.

As reported by NDTV, the first message on April 5 read, “I hope you are doing well. I am your biggest fan and I am very happy that you are playing for the KKR team. Rinku sir, I hope you continue your tireless efforts. One day you will reach the peak of your career. Sir, I have a request; if you can help me financially, Allah will bless you more, Inshallah.”

In just a few days, Naveed’s messages became more direct and impactful. On April 9, he demanded Rs 5 crore from Rinku and told her that he would arrange the time and place to collect the money. The second message from April 9 reads: “I want Rs 5 crore. I will arrange time and location. Please send your confirmation.”

When Rinku did not respond, Naveed made a serious threat to the cricketer. On April 20, the extortionist sent a final message mentioning the infamous criminal organization – D-Company. The final message was simply “Recall! D-Company”.

Notably, D-Company is a well-known organized crime group founded by India’s most wanted man, Dawood Ibrahim. The syndicate is involved in illegal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, contract killings and underworld activities.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai crime branch has reportedly confirmed the chilling plot against Rinku Singh. They confirmed that the Dawood Ibrahim-funded group had sent three messages demanding Rs 5 crore from Rinku’s promotional team. Even Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveen were arrested as suspects.

Earlier, Naveen and Dilshad tried to extort Rs 10 crore from Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of late MP Baba Siddiqui. One of the suspects admitted to calling Rinku directly to demand money. Now, Mumbai Crime Branch officials are investigating the gang’s larger network and ensuring Rinku’s safety.

With a powerful shot at mid-off in his first delivery, Rinku hit a winning boundary and helped India clinch their ninth Asia Cup title and second in the T20 format.
