Rinku Singh reaches 106* as UP Post 367 against Chandigarh

Middle-order batter Rinku Singh played a captain’s knock in Uttar Pradesh’s thrashing against Chandigarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. UP posted a big total of 367/4 thanks to explosive centuries from Rinku and Aryan Juyal.

Rinku Singh smashed an unbeaten total of 106 off just 60 deliveries at a strike rate of 176.67. He hit 11 fours and 4 sixes in his fiery knock to reach an impressive total.

Juyal led UP’s innings

Earlier, Chandigarh won the toss and opted to bowl first. Opening the innings Abhishek Goswami was dismissed early by Sandeep Sharma. Aryan Juyal then anchored the innings and scored 134 off 118, with 7 fours and 8 sixes. His calm innings allowed UP to enter the match.

Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel backed Juyal with his 67 off 57. Sameer Rizvi added a quick 32 off 46 with 3 boundaries.

Rinku’s explosive exit

Coming in with responsibilities on his shoulders, Rinku displayed the perfect blend of composure and controlled aggression. He stabilized the innings while maintaining a high scoring rate. His hundred came at a strike rate of over 175, underlining his growing reputation as one of India’s most reliable finishers across all formats.

He punished loose deliveries with ease and was particularly harsh against spinners in the middle overs. Once Rinku felt comfortable in the enclosure, he shifted gears. He started crossing boundaries regularly and attacked the bowlers in the final overs. His innings included several well-timed fours and big sixes which put the opposition under pressure.

Rinku strengthens senior team prospects

The innings became even more important because he was leading the team. As captain, Rinku remained calm after the initial wickets and held the innings together.

This hundred comes after another strong performance earlier in the tournament. As senior Indian players play domestic games again, innings like this help prove that Rinku is a reliable option for India in limited-overs formats.
