Ricky Stenhouse Jr. by Hyak Motorsports, in an interview with Nascar, shared his opinions on the budding rivalry between him and Carson Hocevar. The two were again engaged in the race in Mexico City for the first inaugural race for paid points outside the United States during the modern era.
Stenhouse Jr. was not happy after being shot by Hocevar in the Nascar Cup Series race in Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, the second time in three races that Hocevar had shot Stenhouse’s car.
The spin occurred with only 10 laps in the race and after having a conversation on the previous contact at Nashville Superspeedway where the car n ° 47 was marked by the car n ° 77. Stenhouse said that his car was in a good place to finish in the top 20 before being turned, which cost him precious points in the classification.
With Shane Van Gisbergen winning the race, which brought Stenhouse Jr. out of the elimination line, he dropped 61 points behind the cutting series line.
After addressing the situation with the media several times in recent weeks, Stenhouse said it was tired of giving more attention or advertising in Hocevar.
“For me, I am tired of giving the child an advertisement, anyway, I don’t know how it will be played, but it will do.”
“I do not know where it is going or what is going on, but we have a job to do here, and it is to go up our way in the points. This line has become more difficult with the victory of SVG. We know that the next weekend is a very good opportunity for us to do the work and to win,” he added.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Carson Hocevar will both aim to stimulate their hopes in the playoffs during the Great American Getaway 400 on Sunday, June 22.

Carson Hocevar thought about his growing quarrel with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. following their last clash on track during the Nascar Cup race in Mexico. The rivalry, which started in Nashville, when Hocevar contacted and put away Stenhouse early, rekindled in Mexico while Hocevar turned Stenhouse’s car with 10 laps to go.
Speaking before Pocono’s race, Hocevar shared the uncertainty about how to repair things, indicating via (Jeff Gluck):
“Unfortunately, I’m not sure of what I would say. There is nothing that would really change it. We have already had this conversation (before Michigan). We have a good relationship – or had a just locked in a very stupid place. I was so stupid. Just a mistake that should not make him a characteristic card and didn’t want better.”
After the race in Mexico, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. confronted Hocevar on Pit Road, expressing his anger and threatening the return on investment once they returned to the United States.
